IMPACT names inaugural career catalyst program participants

The Producers Career Catalyst Program was created to help launch the careers of English-speaking Black producers from Quebec.

The Independent Media Producers Association of Creative Talent (IMPACT) has announced the nine participants for the inaugural year of the Producers Career Catalyst Program (PCCP).

The inaugural PCCP producers are Kadeem A. Maxwell, David Anderson, Amandine Gay, Éric Lafalaise, Moustapha Sadio, Kathy-Ann Thomas, Youri Dominique, Aden Abebe and Kathryn Fasegha.

The program was created in partnership with Access Canada and launches Monday (Sept. 11) at Content Canada. It is aimed at providing career launchpad opportunities for English-speaking Quebec-based Black producers in the province, and will give participants the “tools necessary to help them attain sustainable careers,” said IMPACT president and CEO Samantha Kaine in a statement.

Participants in the program will be working with a Montreal-based production company on a film production in the first quarter of 2024. The program participants will participate in the PCCP for four months.

PCCP is operated in support from Canada Media Fund, Black Opportunity Fund, Content Canada, Inspirit Foundation and BMO Media Finance.
