TSN names new ‘king’

With the departure of Phil King to the executive suites of CTV last week, TSN has named a new man to the top post, former VP of programming Stewart Johnston.

Johnston will lead a new executive team, which will include two-time Gemini winner Mark Milliere, who has been promoted to SVP, production, a bump up from his previous title of VP, production, and Shawn Redmond, who fills Johnston’s role of VP, programming. Redmond’s previous post was VP, marketing.

The new executive team will help TSN’s multimedia properties, which include TSN, TSN2, TSN.ca, TSN Mobile and TSN Events.

The moves are part of a significant management shuffle at CTV, which yesterday also saw the announcement of a new president and VP of sales and marketing at the CTV-helmed Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium. King’s promotion to EVP, programming at CTV was announced last week.
