Calgary- and Regina-based prodco Trilight Entertainment is expanding its presence into British Columbia with a new office in Vernon.

Kimberley Olivia Cardina (pictured, left), who has been appointed the company’s new CFO, will head the B.C. location. Cardina will work with Nicole Field (pictured, centre), who has been named as the new development executive and will be based in Quesnel, B.C., according to a news release.

Jessica Watch (pictured, right), who leads the Regina office and has produced with Trilight Entertainment founder, president and CEO Shayne Putzlocher for the last six years, has been promoted to VP and head of business affairs.

Cardina, who has produced three films alongside Putzlocher in 2021-22 in Prince George, B.C., is “accomplished entrepreneur” and brings more than 25 years of corporate accounting experience to the role, said the release.

Cardina will play “a vital role in driving the company’s national and international growth,” it added.

Field brings a wide range of skill sets, including business management and professional writing experience, said the release.

“Trilight has seen significant growth in the past two years and we felt it was time for us to expand into B.C.,” Putzlocher said in a statement, adding that Cardina and Field’s experience in “working with underrepresented groups will be a major focus” for the company’s plans moving forward.

Trilight recently wrapped production on the Cypress Hills, Sask.-shot A Cowboy Christmas. The film marks the directorial debut of Vancouver-headquartered Barbershop Films’ CEO Jeremy Drummond and is written by Heather Wright. Putzlocher and Watch produced. Executive producers include Drummond, Igor Princ, Ralitsa Trifonova, Daniel Ford Beavis and Trilight’s Glenn Paradis.

Upcoming films include the romantic drama Summer at Charlotte’s, directed by Avi Federgreen with Putzlocher, Watch and Andrea Hoffman serving as producers. It is co-written by Kaisha Bicknell and Style Dayne. Federgreen also serves as executive producer on the film, which will premiere on Super Channel on Aug. 1., Putzlocher tells Playback Daily.
