Canadian music sensation Justin Bieber’s celluloid bow will be directed by John Chu for Paramount Pictures.

The untitled 3D biopic, to be released on February 11, 2011, in time for Valentine’s Day, will feature extensive concert footage from Bieber’s current U.S. tour.

Stratford, Ontario-born Bieber will play himself in the movie.

Los Angeles-based Chu is well-suited to capturing Bieber’s on-stage performances. He directed the 2008 film Step Up 2: The Streets and the 2010 film Step Up 3D, and worked as a choreography director on the U.S.-based So You Think You Can Dance TV series.
