eOne has picked up Force of Nature: The David Suzuki Movie for distribution. The documentary, written and directed by DGC president Sturla Gunnarsson, weaves clips from Suzuki’s legacy lecture into candid interviews with the 75-year-old environmentalist about his life and career.

The film will premiere on September 11 at TIFF, and will then open in Toronto and Ottawa on October 1. Two weeks later, it rolls out to Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Halifax.

For the first two weeks in theatres, eOne is committing $1 dollar from each ticket sold to the David Suzuki Foundation, whose mission is to protect the diversity of nature and our quality of life, now and for the future.

Force of Nature is an eOne/NFB coproduction, in association with the CBC. It was exec produced by Laszlo Barna, Steven Silver and Tracey Friesen; co-produced by Janice Tufford, Sturla Gunnarsson and Yves J. Ma.
