CTV sets Flashpoint date

Kelly Rowan, Victor Garber and Lauren Holly are among the familiar faces that will appear on new episodes of Flashpoint next month, as CTV gets set to bow the third season of the hit action series on Aug. 6.

Flashpoint returns to its Friday 10 p.m. timeslot where it has performed well for the broadcaster, averaging 1.8 million viewers (2+) last season, while a special season three sneak peek episode delivered 1.3 million viewers last week. Ottawa-native Rowan (The O.C., In God’s Country) guest stars as an estranged mother who abducts her two children in the premiere episode entitled ‘Severed Ties.’

Garber, best known for his work on ABC’s Alias, and Holly (NCIS, Dumb & Dumber) will appear in later episodes along with Douglas Smith (Big Love).

CBS has been airing the second half of season two of Flashpoint over the summer and will continue to air season three episodes in simulcast with CTV. (The U.S. broadcaster has been catching up as CTV had already aired the ‘back nine’ of its second season last fall).

CTV has ordered a fourth season of the series, produced by Anne Marie La Traverse of Pink Sky Entertainment and Bill Mustos of Avamar Entertainment. Flashpoint has sold to over 100 territories including RTL2 in Germany, Canal Plus in France, and the Netherlands’ Veronica.
