North America is getting its own version of the edgy U.K. series Being Human, as Muse Entertainment enters production in Montreal.
Muse’s series of the same name revolves around a roommate trio of a vampire, ghost and werewolf who want to live as humans. Its cast includes Sam Witwer (Smallville, CSI), Meaghan Rath (Prom Wars, 18 to Life), Sam Huntington (Fanboys, Superman Returns) and Mark Pellegrino (Supernatural, Lost).
Being Human (13 x 1 hour) is based on the popular drama from Touchpaper Television and is executive produced by Rob Pursey. The series is being produced for Space on home turf and SyFy in the U.S. RDF Rights, which distributes the U.K. series and format, will also distribute the new version internationally.
Human is written and executive produced by husband-and-wife duo Jeremy Carver (Waterfront, Supernatural) and Anna Fricke (Dawson’s Creek, Everwood), with producer Irene Litinsky (Human Trafficking, The Phantom) from Muse.
