Post-production company Streamland Media has tapped Jane Tattersall to lead its picture and sound divisions in Toronto.
Streamland announced on Thursday (Jan. 26) that Tattersall (pictured) has been named managing director, Picture Shop and SVP, Formosa Group, Toronto. As part of the role, she is responsible for expanding the company’s post-production local talent roster as well as day-to-day operations.
Tattersall has worked in this position since March 2022, but this is the first time her appointment has been publicly announced, according to a news release. She has already overseen the additions of new mixing stages and editing suites at the facilities.
The Emmy-nominated sound editor was formerly partner and SVP of Sim International’s post-production operations in Toronto before it was acquired by Streamland Media in 2021.
She has a long history of post-production work in Canada, founding Tattersall Sound in 1994 and Tattersall Sound & Picture in 2004. The company was merged with Sim Group in 2015.
Tattersall has won numerous awards throughout her post-production career, including a BAFTA for the 2004 mini-series Sex Traffic, and has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy three times, twice for Vikings and once for the 2012 mini-series World Without End.
Her recent work includes Sarah Polley’s Oscar-nominated feature Women Talking and the limited series Poacher, which was directed by Richie Mehta and had its world premiere in the Sundance Film Festival’s Indie Episodic program this month.
“Jane is one of the most respected creative talents in post-production, and we are delighted she has taken the reins in Toronto,” said Picture Shop president Cara Sheppard in a statement.
