Cineflix brings Canadian scripted, factual content to MIPCOM

New factual titles O.J. Simpson: Blood, Lies & Murder and Patrick Aryee’s Wild World are among the sales slate.

Cineflix Rights has added new Canadian factual titles to its MIPCOM sales slate, along with a number of domestic scripted projects.

The Cineflix Media-owned distributor’s lineup for the Oct. 17 to 20 market includes the debut of true crime series O.J. Simpson: Blood, Lies & Murder (2 x 60 minutes), produced by Toronto’s Buck Productions in association with the Cineflix-backed prodco Connect3 Media. The series, which was commissioned by U.S. cable network Reelz, re-examines the notorious murder investigation with new evidence.

Two Cineflix Productions titles have also been newly-added to the factual slate, including Patrick Aryee’s Wild World (4 x 60 minutes; pictured), produced with U.K. prodco Curve Media for Sky Nature; and the “whodunnit” docuseries Somebody’s Hiding Something (26 x 60 minutes), produced with New York-based First Story Productions and commissioned by Bell Media, A&E in the U.K., and True Crime Network in the U.S.

Additional Canadian factual titles include the recently-acquired Cream Productions docuseries History of the Sitcom (8 x 60 minutes), commissioned as a CNN Original, and Halifax-based Arcadia Entertainment’s Ghost Ships (4 x 60 minutes), ordered by Bell Media.

The Canadian scripted lineup includes Reginald the Vampire (10 x 60 minutes), produced by Thunderbird Entertainment’s Great Pacific Media, Modern Story, December Films, and Cineflix Studios, premiering Wednesday (Oct. 5) on U.S. network Syfy; the 90-minute thriller Sugar (Connect3 Media, Sepia Films), which was acquired in Canada by Amazon streamer Prime Video; and Cineflix Productions’ 90-minute feature Jodi Arias: Bad Behind Bars, produced for Lifetime.
