eOne appoints Canadian unscripted development VPs

Christine Diakos joins eOne as VP of development to lead the unscripted creative team alongside Scott Boyd, who is promoted to VP of development.

Entertainment One (eOne) has bolstered its unscripted creative team by appointing Scott Boyd and Christine Diakos as VP of development.

Both Boyd and Diakos will lead the unscripted team and report to Jocelyn Hamilton, eOne president, Canada, television.

Diakos joins the company as VP of development, unscripted, Canada, television. She’ll be responsible for the development, creation and pitching of unscripted content, focusing on lifestyle, reality and competition series.

Meanwhile, Boyd has been promoted to VP of development, unscripted and will oversee factual, true crime and docuseries content.

Diakos was previously SVP of production and development at the Toronto-based production company Big Coat Media, serving as supervising producer on series such as HGTV’s Love It or List It and Love It or List It Vancouver, and W Network’s Jillian and Justin. Before that, Diakos worked in various senior production and development roles for Shaw Media and Peacock Alley Entertainment, on series including A User’s Guide to Cheating Death (VisionTV) and Hockey Wives (W Network).

Boyd joined eOne in 2017 as a development producer. He quickly became director of development, working on projects such as Discovery’s Make it to the Moon and CBC’s Arctic Vets. He was previously a producer and director working in multiple genres, on series including CBC’s Dragons’ Den and W Network’s Undercover Boss Canada.

The appointments come as eOne continues to build out its unscripted content slate, said Hamilton in a statement, adding that Diakos’ “depth of experience in the lifestyle space will be a perfect complement to Scott’s expertise in factual. It’s an exciting time for our unscripted business.”
