Go Button Media readies Bake & Make Up for the global market

The Toronto-based prodco will handle worldwide format sales for the emotional culinary series.

Go Button Media is cooking up factual entertainment series Bake & Make Up for the global market.

Ahead of the Aug. 29 launch of the original 5 x 30-minute culinary show, commissioned by VisionTV, the Toronto-based prodco known internationally for its factual series has announced plans to launch the primetime format worldwide.

There is currently no distributor attached, so Go Button Media will handle format and taped sales themselves using their direct relationships with buyers in different territories, a spokesperson for the company tells Playback Daily.

Each episode of Bake & Make Up sees two people who used to be close — from childhood friends, to past loves and family — reuniting in the Bake & Make Up kitchen, where they tackle a recipe that has shared meaning.

It’s a “simple, readily localized” format that brings together the emotion of relationships and traditional recipes, said Natasha Ryan, Go Button’s co-founder and executive producer, in a statement.

Go Button Media promoted four members of its development and production teams in January as part of plans to double its production slate of of factual and entertainment titles to record numbers for this year.
