Maple Pictures has found the Holy Grail, and a dead parrot. The Toronto distributor has signed a multi-year deal to represent the Monty Python Film Collection. The sales agent rights for Canadian television puts Maple in charge of cult titles including 1975’s Monty Python & the Holy Grail, The Life of Brian and all 45 episodes of Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

Maple has recently been expanding its library beyond the horror and lesser-known indie titles that marked its early years. The company last year added a long-term output deal with Miramax Films to its roster of Lionsgate and Gold Circle Films.

The news follows word that Jim Sherry has stepped down from the co-presidency of Maple, handing the reins back to Brad Pelman and Laurie May.

Other titles covered in the deal include Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl, the Terry Gilliam film Jabberwocky and two new documentaries, Before the Flying Circus and Monty Python Conquers America.
