>Atlantis Communications’ first annual report since going public Dec. 15, 1993 shows growth in revenue, production volume and distribution. Revenues for the fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 1993 were $76.1 million, up $23 million from 1992. Revenues were derived almost exclusively from television production and distribution. Net earnings for 1993 of $5.9 million showed a 40% increase over 1992 figures.
Production volume last year was $66 million, up $14 million from ’92. Program funds totaled $45,598,726 last year, up $15.5 million from a year earlier.
The 1993 revenue breakdown is as follows: $38.9 million in distribution licences, $30.1 million in program financing, $4.4 million in tax-shelter interest, and $900,000 in Cinevillage rental revenue.
Fifty-five percent of proceeds will go to develop Atlantis programs, 30% to acquire third-party programs and 15% to acquire related interests (such as more production or posting facilities).
Distribution revenues for 1993 were shared as follows: Canada, 20%; other markets, 34%; u.s., 46%. Over the past three years (1990-93), the average split was Canada, 32%; other markets, 27%; and the u.s., 41%.
Assets for 1993 were set at $156.5 million, liabilities at $112.2 million, with $8,478,464 in loans payable due by 1997. PC
