Quebecor Content has promoted Louis Pearson (pictured) to senior director, acquisition and original film.

The promotion will see Pearson, formerly director, fiction acquisitions and Quebec film development, lead film content acquisition for linear and streaming platforms, including TVA Group, Club illico and Vrai.

He will continue to oversee production and promotion of Quebec films, and now reports to Yann Paquet, VP, strategy and international affairs at Quebecor Content.

Pearson joined Quebecor Content in 2018 to help increase its investment in locally-produced features. He has held senior management positions at Groupe V Media and Remstar Films before then, with previous experience in both acquisitions and content development.

In a statement, Paquet said Pearson has “played a key role in the success” of the company’s channels and platforms, and his reputation will enable Quebecor Content to “continue acquiring top-calibre international content in all genres.”
