BC Tel gives Zitani a call
and Hunt Stretches for Cap
Starting out West: at Apple Box Productions in Vancouver, Cosimo Zitani flew in from Toronto for two days on BC Tel Mobility, and director Graham Hunt picked up two days for Cap Toys’ Stretch Armstrong, with Roger Vernon taking dop credit.
In Edmonton, Apple Box’s Phil Spink directed two days for agt, with John Spooner handling camera. Spooner also had three days as director/dop on a psa entitled ‘Speed Kills’ and three more on another agt campaign.
At Apple Box, Toronto, director Peter Hutchings had a day of product shots for Procter & Gamble, with Anton van Rooyen on board as dop. Director Steve Onyett and dop James Gardner will team up for two days for noma, and Jim Beresford is gearing up for three days with Home Depot.
At Imported Artists Film Company, Amir Hamed donned his director/dop hat for a Red Rose Tea spot through J. Walter Thompson. Shot in the Maritimes, the three-day job was edited by Richard Unruh. Director Richard D’Alessio has been keeping busy. D’Alessio teamed up with cinematographer Sean Valentini on a 17-day pool of spots for Molson Canadian’s ‘I Am’ campaign out of MacLaren: Lintas. Flashcut Editing’s Gillian McArthy handled post.
Damast Gordon and Associates’ director Boris Damast and cinematographer Steve Gordon joined forces on a one-day shoot for Ontario Blue Cross’ Travel Health Plan. The spot was out of Due North Communications. Third Floor Editing’s Alex Eaton posted.
At Avion Films, Matt Matthews directed a spot for p&g out of dmb&b. Stan Mestel handled camera on the one-day shoot.
Director/dop David Insley of Dalton Films had two days for kfc. The job was out of Young and Rubicam. A one-day spot for Ford Mercury Dealers’ Ranger, out of y&r, was directed by David Straiton and shot by dop Barry Parrel. Andy Hunter of Image Group performed editing duties.
David McNally of The Players Film Company picked up two days, with Nixon Binney on camera, for an undisclosed Grey Advertising client.
Radke Films’ director John Mastromonaco landed seven days for Chrysler and McKim Baker Lovick/bbdo this month. Robin Miller handled camera. Phil Kates will direct four days for Wrigley out of bbdo and another two days in August for Special K, through Leo Burnett. The cinematographers have not yet been announced. Also at Radke, director/dop J. Wesley Jones had five days on a shoot for Rice Krispies. The assignment was out of Leo Burnett, Chicago.
At The Partners’ Film Company, director Barbara Cole and dop Chris Homes Jr. shot two-and-a-half days for Royal Doulton and Vickers and Benson. Andy Ames handled post. Jim Manera was in town to direct two days for American Tool. Gardner handled camera and the editing was done at Partners’ Post. The job was through Bozell Worldwide, Omaha, Nebraska.
Partners’ director George D’Amato scored nine days for Home Hardware out of Saffer Advertising. Valentini was dop and David Hicks handled editing.
In Montreal, new shoots reported by Cinelande include a 60-second promo for the TVA Television Network and agency BCP Strategie Creativite and a Centraide psa, also out of bcp.
Director Lyne Charlebois and dop Yves Belanger used many locations around town for the tva fall launch spot, while Belanger and director James di Salvio handled duties on the Centraide location assignment.
Figaro Films reports shoots for Molson O’Keefe and bcp, Pizza Hut and Auger Babeux fcb and Les Ailes de la Mode and bcp.
Glenn Bydwell is directing the action and lighting the set on a shoot for shopping center retailer Les Ailes de la Mode while Claude Brie directs on the Pizza Hut date. And u.s.-based director Leslie Robson-Foster and dop Guy Dufaux will team on the two-day studio shoot for Molson.
