Sullivan Entertainment of Toronto has taken legal action in the Federal Court in Pennsylvania against a consortium of u.s. public television stations, claiming non-payment of at least $2.5 million in distribution receipts collected by the Wonderworks Public Television Consortium and not remitted to the producer.
In addition to the payment, Sullivan has also asked the court to terminate the u.s. distribution rights to Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Green Gables – The Sequel held by the consortium.
Aldo Di Felice, chief operating officer with Toronto-based Sullivan, says the company hopes the matter can be resolved without a lengthy trial, adding the unpaid distribution monies owed to Sullivan are also owed to other investors in the productions, including Telefilm Canada.
