Something funny’s going on at Catalyst

Catalyst Entertainment has teamed up with The People’s Comedy Festival for 13 half-hour episodes of a new series, Funny Girls, and seven one-hour specials entitled Life, Liberty and Laughter. The programs, which will begin airing on WTN, The Women’s Television Network in January 1995, will showcase the best female stand-up comedy talent in North America.

The Catalyst/People’s Comedy team is also producing a one-hour special, The Red Green Comedy Slam Special, to be broadcast on Superchannel.

CBS wants more

CBS has ordered five additional episodes of The Boys Are Back, a half-hour sitcom distributed in Canada by Telegenic Programs, Toronto, bringing the total number of episodes to 18. Telegenic vice-president Michael Taylor says he expects a full season commitment of 22 episodes in the next few weeks.
