Pulling strings
Veteran puppet designer Jean-Guy White has joined Montreal’s Desclez Productions as puppet codesigner, builder and workshop supervisor on the preschool series Little Star.
White’s long list of credits include The Muppet Christmas Carol for Walt Disney Pictures and the abc series Dinosaur.
Desclez produced the successfully exported preschool show Iris, The Happy Professor, seen in the u.s. on The Learning Channel. The program is also available on video and cd-rom. Desclez is currently prepping a new 52-episode animation series, Turtle Island.
Back to school
Ryerson Polytechnic University’s School of Radio and Television Arts in Toronto is offering a two-year program for advanced students. The program allows students who already hold university degrees to complete the equivalent of the four-year rta Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in two years.
rta chair Dr. Robert Gardner says he anticipates 500 applicants for the 30 available spots in the advanced standing program and 1,300-1,400 applicants for 100 spots in the four-year program in the 1995/96 academic school year.
