Norstar deal
Norstar Entertainment has signed a multi-picture, all-media Canadian distribution rights deal with Sony Pictures Classics for a number of films including Gerard Corbiau’s Farinelli, Tom DiCillo’s Living in Oblivion, Suri Krishnamma’s Man of No Importance and Louis Malle’s Vanya on 42nd Street.
Couch just got comfier
Radical Sheep Productions’ award-winning kids’ series The Big Comfy Couch will launch Time-Life Kids, Time-Life Video and Television’s new preschool children’s retail label. The merchandising deal will develop various formats – audio, book, digital and video – as well as include retail educational and direct-response sales for each format in the U.S. Videos and books based on the program will be available later this year.
Merchandising deals with The Big Comfy Couch’s U.S. distributor, Hollywood Ventures Corporation, are also underway.
As well, Couch stars Lunette and Molly have been invited to schmooze with d.c.’s glitterati smallfry at the annual White House Easter egg hunt.
