Starting the roundup in Toronto, director Jeff Jones of Radke Films landed two days for Wrigley’s Extra, with Sean Valentini behind the lens. Leo Burnett was the agency and Third Floor Editing’s Richard Unruh picked up posting honors.
L.T.B. Productions’ Christopher Gentile directed for Kool-Aid and Young and Rubicam. Ryan McMaster was the cinematographer on the two-day assignment and Third Floor’s Barry McMann edited. Gentile also shot a day for the Ontario Milk Marketing Board out of Bratch Goehrum and Partners. The dop was Valentini. McMann was the editor.
Eugene Beck scored another four days in Vancouver for Huggies and Ogilvy and Mather’s New York office. Nick Allen-Woolfe handled dop duties.
Damast Gordon and Associates’ Steve Gordon pulled double duty as director/dop on two spots for Pinesol through y&r. Chameleon Film and Video’s Andy Attalai cut the two-day assignment.
George Morita of Avion Film Productions donned his director/ dop hat on a pre-light and four-day shoot for Atlantic Lottery and Halifax-based agency McArthur Thompson and Law.
At Vancouver’s Apple Box Productions, dop John Houtman will be working with bbdo art director/director Phil Brown for two days on 11 new bctv station ids.
In Montreal, Figaro Films director Jean-Claude Lauzon and dop Guy Dufaux shot a pool of eight French-language commercials for Sprint Canada’s ’95 tv campaign. The four-day shoot was posted at Creation Montage and is out of Taxi, l’agence.
Claude Brie directed and J.P. Trudel lit the action on Loto-Quebec’s Formule 1, out of Cossette Communication Marketing. The two French/English spots were posted at Bureau de poste and Centre de montage electronique.
Director Martin Ouellette and Trudel picked up a one-day shoot for Brasserie Molson O’Keefe’s Molson Export. ‘Les Originaux’ was posted at Montage Metaphore and cme and is out of agency Auger Babeux fcb.
Figaro’s Brie also directed a two-day shoot for Rice Krispies and RTA Publicite and a one-day job for Poulet Frit Kentucky’s Mega Meal, out of Academie Ogilvy. The dop was Yves Belanger. Ouellette and Trudel teamed on a one-day assignment for Groupe Vitro-Plus and Communications Claude Boulay. The job was posted at Metaphore and cme.
Lots of action at Productions Pascal Blais this season, including animated tigers for Esso and agency Marketel, and commercials for Nissan Canada, Duro and La Boite a Idees and Wonderbread.
Director Anthony Lamolinara is back in business with two national 30s for Cossette and Schering Canada’s Claritin. After the director’s prize-winning ragweed pool for Claritin, these spots feature an animated, upper-class tulip.
Sylvain Chomet was the director on two spots for Loneys Soup out of RTA Publicite.
Still at Blais, Cordell Barker directed seven animated 30s and a 60 featuring Max, the little graffiti guy of Intermax fame, for Bell Canada and Cossette, in addition to boarding two new 30s for Energy Mines and Resources Canada starring his persistent, but lovable little cat character.
At Cinelande, new action includes ro-na’s 1995 corporate campaign, which was directed by Erik Canuel, with Bruce Chung on board as dop. Set on an island paradise the three spots were posted at Metaphore and Hybride Technologies.
Two new French 30s for Harvey’s and Allard Communication were directed by Serge Jacques, with Chung the dop and Michel Corriveau handling music at Air Tango. Post was shared by Creation Montage and Supersuite.
Canuel and dop David Franco won the PALM Publicite Marketing assignment for Loto-Quebec’s scratch ‘n’ win Aventure Instantanee, while director Jean-Marc Piche and dop Daniel Jobin teamed on a one-day shoot for Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain out of rta.
Director Charles Biname and dop Thomas Vamos shot a dramatic hands-only, four-spot pool for Investors Group and Blouin Coulombe Dube Thompson. And director Jacques and Franco helmed the action on a one-day shoot for l&f’s Lysol out of Cossette. Creation Montage did the offline edit and Supersuite did the film transfer and post.
Biname also got the call on a French/English early-teen, anti-smoking 30 for Ministere de la Sante et Services Sociaux and Groupe Everest.
And finally, Piche directed and Chung shot a one-day job for Canesten, a personal hygiene account out of Allard Communication.
