* Former Radio-Quebec programming vice-president Alain Dufour is the fourth member of r-q’s board to resign following Jean Fortier’s appointment as president. The others are Pierre Laporte, Claude Beaudoin and Jean LaCouture.
Fortier assumes Dufour’s programming duties and heads up a review committee charged with plotting the public broadcaster’s future.
* Ralph Alderman has resigned as general manager of North Shore Studios in Vancouver. Comptroller Peter Leitch has taken over as acting gm until a replacement can be found.
* Live musical theatre producer (Cats, Napoleon) Marlene Smith has been appointed the interim chair of the Foundation to Underwrite New Drama.
* Arnold Reeves has joined cbc’s English television network, media operations as senior manager of regional resources and capital planning.
A longtime executive engineer with cbc, Reeves will represent regional properties in future discussions of the cbc distribution and transmissions systems, and provide guidance to regional engineering operations.
* The Catalyst Group of Companies has named Cynthia Grech general manager of Catalyst Europe (Malta) and Toni Stevens studio manager of Phoenix Animation Studios.
