Canning takes on Kraft;

MacDonald does Wal-Mart

Starting in Toronto: through Leo Burnett, Dalton Kessler Productions’ Bob Canning directed for Kraft Pourables. Nick Allen-Woolfe was behind the lens on the one-day assignment. Director Randy MacDonald worked on a one-day Wal-Mart job, with Gabor Tarko acting as cinematographer. The agency was smw.

Heathgate Films director Ron Leyser will partner up with dop Harry Lake on a one-day job for McCain Country Cottage through bws.

At Kessler Irish Films, director Robert Logevall logged five days for client Warner-Lambert and J. Walter Thompson in Cancun, Mexico. David Stockton took dop honors and Third Floor Editing’s Richard Unruh posted. Out of Chiat/Day, Barry Parrell donned his director/dop hat for the Metro Toronto Zoo. Chameleon Film and Video’s Wendy Linton handled posting duties.

Cuppa Coffee Animation and Design completed a national assignment in French and English for Panasonic Shockwave through DDB Needham. Bruce Alcock directed and Steve Hillman was the cinematographer. Tom Hillman, Julian Grey and Paloma Boiles handled claymation and Magnetic North’s Frank Biasi posted. The original score was composed by Byron Wong.

Radke Films director Philip Kates joined forces with dop Andre Pienaar on a one-day shoot for Benson and Hedges Symphony of Fire. The job, which was through Saatchi and Saatchi, was edited by Andy Ames of Partners’ Post.

Out of Hoodoo Films, Tim Hamilton directed and Rhett Morita shot a music video for Ron Sexsmith.

In Montreal, La Fabrique d’Images director Marc S. Grenier and dop Steve Danyluk teamed on a one-day shoot for food retailer Maxi and agency Groupe Everest. ‘Biodome’ was shot at a client location with casting by Ginette D’Amico and music by Daniel Lussier. Director Jean-Francois Pothier and Danyluk shot a new French 30 at Cite du Cinema for Semaine des Millionaires and Loto-Quebec out of PNMD/Publitel.

Lots of action at Cinelande this month including three 30s and two 15s from busy director Jean-Marc Piche and dop Pierre Gill for Societe des alcools du Quebec’s ’95 vine promotion campaign out of Marketel as well as two French 30s featuring teen testimonials for Coca-Cola Classique, also out of Marketel. The latter spots were posted at Montage Metaphore and Supersuite.

Francois Girard directed and Daniel Jobin was the dop on a smart-looking pool for Communautes culturelles et Immigration Quebec and Marketel, ‘J’ai le coeur quebecois.’

And director Serge Jacques and dop Jobin shot three 30s for Natrel’s Quebon. Posted at Creation Montage and Centre de montage electronique, these new spots feature real milk producers and are out of agency St. Jacques Vallee y&r.
