Cameras are rolling next week in B.C. on the feature-length thriller Exile, directed and produced by Jason James (Entanglement).
The film, scheduled to shoot in Powell River, B.C., is written by Mike Beaton and stars Adam Beach (Suicide Squad, Monkey Beach) and Camille Sullivan (Hunter Hunter).
Exile tells the story of a man who, after being released from prison for killing a family in a DUI, receives threats from the family’s surviving member to not make contact with his wife and children. His wife goes on a search for him, believing the threats are a manifestation of his guilt.
James is producing the film under his Vancouver banner Resonance Films, with Amber Ripley of Goodbye Productions and Sammie Astaneh of Service Street Pictures also serving as producers.
Exile was financed through private equity with Tai Duncan and Mark Williams of the L.A.-based agency Zero Gravity Entertainment serving as executive producers.
James and Beach previously collaborated on the feature Monkey Beach, directed by Loretta Todd.
Beaton and James are represented by Zero Gravity Management’s Eric Williams.
