Vancouver-based Liquid Media Group has teamed with film marketplace Slated to deliver predictive analytics to film and TV projects.
Slated’s service — which forecast multi-Oscar winner Sound of Metal‘s success four years before release — measures the strength of a project from the production’s talent and producing team, to the script or screener, to maximize financial returns. A post-production service, aiming to match completed films to the right distributor, is the newest tool on the platform.
Creatives working with Liquid will receive favorable pricing for their project analysis through Slated under a non-exclusive partnership agreement.
Founded by Canadian actor/producer Joshua Jackson (Dawson’s Creek, Little Fires Everywhere) and headed by Ron Thompson, Liquid will adopt Slated’s scoring system to evaluate the development-readiness of film, TV and other pro video content for Liquid’s clients. The two companies will work together to provide packaging, financing, sales and distribution services to drive growth for IP owners and producers.
“Next-generation statistical analysis helps derisk projects and predictively models how well they will perform, whether on traditional TV, streaming platforms or as a theatrical release to cinemas around the world,” Thompson, CEO, said in a statement.
“Slated has been looking forward to this partnership since Ron first laid out his growth strategy for Liquid earlier this year,” said Tim Wesley, CEO of Slated, in a statement.
Both Slated and Liquid Media are among companies taking part in Playback’s Film Summit, on Nov. 9 and 10.
