Commercial Directions: Canada shops Radke

Radke Films’ Peter Goldschmidt shot nine days with dop Paul Cameron for Canada Tourism. v&b was the agency, and Richard Unruh of Third Floor did the cut. Director John Mastromonaco and dop Robin Miller picked up 12 days for Canadian Airlines through Chiat Day. Third Floor’s Unruh was the editor. For Shopper’s Drug Mart through Chiat Day, director Philip Kates and dop Andre Pienaar picked up two days of pre-light and four shoot days. Post was handled at Chameleon by Leo Zaharatos. Jeff Jones directed a day for Oil of Olay through Saatchi & Saatchi. Sean Valentini was the dop and Partners’ Brant Lambermont did editing duty.

Vancouver’s Coyote Films has just completed a national psa for Scouts Canada. Ken Kuramoto directed and lensed two shoot days in Vancouver and Harrison Lake. Scheduled for national release this month, the psa was off-lined at Coast Mount Post Productions and on-lined at Gastown Post & Transfer and Post Modern Sound.

Avion Film Production shot three days for the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada through FCB Canada. Eugene Beck was the director, Stanley Mestel was the dop and Chameleon’s Ross Briggs was the editor. Mestel was also behind the camera on a two-day shoot for American Standard through Dallas’ Richards’ Group, which Dan Hackett directed, and on a one-day shoot for Canadian Tire through Doner Schur Peppler, with Henry Holtzman at the helm and Smash’s Barry Farrell handling the edit.

Kessler Irish Films has recently completed four shoots. Director Robert Logevall and dop Doug Koch shot two days in the Point Pelee marshlands for Mead Johnson Canada through Harrod & Mirlin. Alex Eaton of Third Floor was the editor. Logevall, this time out with James Gardner behind the camera, also directed a day for Kraft Canada through Young & Rubicam. Chameleon’s Andy Attalai did editing duties. Barry Parrell directed and lensed one day for Rothman’s Benson & Hedges through Saatchi & Saatchi. Editing was handled by Lambermont at Partners’ Post. Director Frank Tammariello, with Gardner behind the camera, shot 3 1/2 days for Pharma Plus Drugmart. The agency was Roche Macaulay & Partners, and the editor was David Hicks at Partners’ Post.

Charlie Carson of Imported Artists spent three days shooting for Beaver Lumber with the ubiquitous Gardner as dop. Bruce Copeman at Partners Post handled editing duties.

At Damast Gordon & Associates, director Gary Weis and dop Miller spent three days in Prince Edward Island shooting nine spots for PEI Tourism through Young & Rubicam. Chameleon’s busy Attalai was the editor.

Director Bob Canning and dop Gabor Tarko of Dalton Films will be shooting a day this week for Zellers through Padulo Advertising. Stephen Onyett, also working with Tarko behind the lens, directed a day for Ford through Young & Rubicam. Peer Engelhardt of Reel Ideas did the fine-cutting.

Spy Films has completed a spot for Buick through MacLaren McCann, which was shot in Arizona. Peter Henderson directed, Koch was the dop and Third Floor handled post. Director/Post designer Rod Chong with Parrell as dop shot a spot for Hitachi through Prism. Post will be handled at Eyes Group.

Shin Sugino of Circle Productions was the director/dop for a one-day shoot for Ford through Young & Rubicam/FMDA Group. Director Fred Frame spent eight days shooting for the Ministry of Employment & Investment. The agency was Lanyon Phillips Brink and Brian Pearson was behind the camera. With Ron Williams on camera, Derik Murray directed a day for Alberta Milk through the Venture Group in Calgary.
