* Montreal producers Louise Gendron and Claude Heroux have terminated their partnership in Productions Videotheme, set up in 1994 to produce tv series.

Videotheme produced one mini-series, the four-hour international adoption drama Parents malgre tout set for broadcast this fall on Television Quatre Saisons.

Heroux says he has bought out Gendron’s share in the company and will produce through his own company, Communications Claude Heroux International.

Gendron is the president of Productions du Cerf.

* Vancouver animators International Rocketship will see their production of Gary Larson’s Tales From The Far Side screened in the Window on Images competition section of the 52nd Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica, Venice International Film Festival on Sept. 4.

Far Side was commissioned by FarWorks, Inc., Gary Larson’s company in Seattle. Rocketship is in production on a second Tales From The Far Side animated film.

* After several weeks of shooting in the California desert, filming moved to Montreal through to Aug. 22 on Mojave Frankenstein, the second family feature from Melenny Productions’ president Richard Goudreau and director Robert Tinnell. Last year, Melenny’s Kids of the Round Table sold to 30 countries and to the Disney Channel in the u.s.

The cast includes Burt Reynolds, Myriam Cry and Louise Flether. Malofilm chairman and ceo Rene Malo is the film’s executive producer. Malofilm International is handling world sales and France Film is the Canadian distributor.

* cbc tv will be airing a music program entitled Music Works regionally in Ontario for six weeks starting Aug. 26 (Saturdays, 7 p.m. est.) Pat Mastroianni (Liberty Street) will host, and the show will be taped in Ottawa. It will be seen on the cbc network in the fall.

* Although ExpressVu is requesting crtc approval to carry the Northern Canadian aboriginal service Television Northern Canada, Canadian Satellite Communications has announced it will be marketing and distributing tvnc programming. Cancom and tvnc already have a relationship whereby tvnc receives free transmission service from Cancom.
