Videotron, Quebec’s largest cable company, has announced that it will introduce Showcase and Bravo! to Quebec viewers on Sept. 12 as part of a one-month free trial. The premium-tier Videoway package will be available for $9.94, in addition to the cost of the basic package and will include Fox, The Life Network, Discovery, cnn, a&e, Showcase, Bravo! and tvontario.

Jean-Paul Galarneau, Videotron’s director of communications, says Showcase was chosen because of its popularity with subscribers in Edmonton. He also said subscribers should like Showcase’s French-track programming and subtitled movies.

Ninety-two percent of Videotron’s subscribers are francophone. LRB
