Toronto kids content producer Guru Studio has secured a raft of global deals for its preschool series Pikwik Pack.
The 52 x 11-minute series has been acquired by broadcasters in the U.K. (Tiny Pop), Italy (Rai), Finland (YLE), Brazil (Gloob), Mexico (Televisa), Ireland (TG4), Spain (Canal Panda), Singapore (Mediacorp Okto), Taiwan (EBC YOYO) and the Middle East and Baltics (OSN).
It follows the adventures of Suki the hedgehog and her teammates as they make deliveries to the residents of Pikwik.
Pikwik Pack premiered on Treehouse in Canada and Disney Junior in the U.S. late last year, followed by Hulu, with new episodes continuing throughout 2021.
The series has previously been acquired in Germany (Super RTL), Portugal (Canal Panda), Israel (HOP) and Poland (Minimini+). It is currently featured in Tiny Pop’s Back to School weekday programming slate.
A line of toys based on Pikwik Pack is coming from toyco Playmate Toys, with Scholastic set to release a number of book titles in the U.S. this fall. Merchandising and licensing in the U.S. is handled by bRAND-WARD.
“Preschoolers are falling in love with Pikwik Pack‘s big adventures and heartfelt charm”, said Jonathan Abraham, VP of sales and business development at Guru Studio, in a statement. “With these new international broadcast partners, we are excited to bring the series to children all over the world.”
