Former Viacom exec tapped to lead development at OUTtv USA

The appointment comes four months after the LGBTQ+ network's SVOD platform launched stateside.

stevenson greeneOUTtv Media Group (OMG) and L.A.’s Producer Entertainment Group (PEG) are looking to grow the content pipeline for their recently launched subscription-based VOD platform, OUTtv USA.

The companies announced Tuesday (July 6) they have hired former Viacom exec Stevenson Greene to head up development for OUTtvUSA and PEG.

In the newly created role, Greene will lead development and production for series, specials and other original content for the U.S. streaming service, which is focused on LGBTQ+ content. Greene will be based at PEG’s headquarters in Burbank, CA and report to both Jacob Slane, partner and talent manager at PEG, and  OUTtv COO Philip Webb. From Katya With LoveNubia and Translation are among the projects he will oversee.

Previously, Greene was the senior manager of content acquisitions for MTV Entertainment/Viacom and senior manager of original programming for Logo. His credits include executive producing Finding Prince Charming and Food To Get You Laid, as well as serving as a producer on RuPaul’s Drag Race.

“With Stevenson on board, we are looking forward to working in partnership with PEG to elevate OUTtv in the USA and bring LGBTQ+ programming to an even wider audience,” said OMG CEO Brad Danks in a statement.

While the launch of OUTtv USA, which is available through Apple TV, marked OUTtv’s first official foray into the U.S. market, the company has been significantly expanding its international footprint in other territories in recent years. The company launched FROOTtv in the U.K. and Ireland last year, while it is also available in New Zealand and Australia.

OUTtv originals include Group Sext, The Whole Package, My Trans Journey, Sex & Violence, Drag Heals and the upcoming drag competition series Call Me Mother.
