Sinking Ship picks up 12 Daytime Emmy nominations

The kids prodco earned nominations for Ghostwriter, Endlings and Odd Squad in the technical categories.

Toronto prodco Sinking Ship Entertainment has earned 12 Daytime Emmy nominations for three of its kids programs.

Nominations for 48th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were announced yesterday (May 25) for technical categories, as well as for drama series, talk shows and game shows. The awards will be presented on CBS and Paramount+ on June 25. Nominations for the children’s & animation and lifestyle categories will be announced on June 28, with the awards presented on July 17.

Apple TV+ series Ghostwriter (pictured) – produced by Sinking Ship and Sesame Workshop – picked up the most nominations with five, followed by Hulu and CBC series Endlings with four and PBS and TVOKids’ Odd Squad with three.

Ghostwriter and Endlings are both nominated in four categories: Outstanding Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design for a Drama or Daytime Fiction Program, Outstanding Sound Mixing and Editing for a Drama or Daytime Fiction Program, Outstanding Lighting Direction for a Drama or Daytime Fiction Program and Outstanding Music Direction and Composition for a Daytime Program.

Ghostwriter is also nominated for Outstanding Hairstyling for a Drama or Daytime Fiction Program.

Odd Squad, meanwhile, is nominated for Outstanding Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design, Outstanding Costume Design/Styling and Outstanding Lighting Direction.

Sinking Ship was recently announced as the 2021 Innovative Producer Award winner for the Rockie Awards International Program Competition, which will be presented virtually on June 15. The prodco picked up three Canadian Screen Awards last week, with two for Odd Squad Mobile Unit and one for Dino Dana.
