The CRB Foundation will use the $7.8 million cbc miniseries production of The Arrow as the basis for a new ‘Heritage Minute’ on the story of the ill-fated Avro Arrow fighter planes.

The Arrow ‘Minute’ will feature Dan Aykroyd, star of the four-hour miniseries from Toronto’s Film Works and Tapestry Films and Winnipeg’s John Aaron Productions.

The spot is being produced by The Arrow production company, Straight Arrow Productions, and the crb. An additional scene has been shot for the ‘Minute,’ which will not appear in the miniseries.

The spot, designed to promote Canadian history as well as the miniseries, will be delivered late this month and is set to air in theaters in advance of The Arrow’s planned airdate in January.

The ‘Heritage Minutes’ were conceived by Charles Bronfman and Patrick Watson, executive producer of The Arrow spot. More than 50 ‘Minutes’ have run so far in theaters and on tv.
