Commercial Directions: Imported team shoots seven days for GM

At Imported Artists, Wayne Gibson wrapped two days for Barnett Bank through McKinney & Silver, New York. Doug Koch shot the three 15s and post will be done in New York.

Richard D’Alessio got the call on a 30 for Toshiba through Promanad Communications, with James Gardner the dop and Panic & Bob’s David Baxter editing. D’Alessio also picked up a 30 for the U.S. Airforce through H.M.S. Partners, U.S.A. Simon Mestel was the dop on the one-day Ancaster, Ont. shoot and Mark Hajek at Partners’ Post edited.

D’Alessio and Mestel teamed up on a seven-day shoot in Toronto and Winnipeg for General Motors through Cossette Communications. Baxter edited the two 60s and two 30s.

Director/dop Charles Wittenmeier had three prelight and 10 shoot days for Ikea Germany through Roche Macaulay & Partners. David Hicks at Panic & Bob edited the pool. Bob Purman shot and directed three days for Quaker through Harrod & Mirlin. Third Floor’s Alex Eaton edited the two 30s.

At The Artists Company, Piers Plowden wrapped a three-day Acura shoot in Montreal through Ambrose Carr Linton Carroll, with David Stockton the dop and Richard Unruh at Third Floor handling post. Artists’ Skip D’Amico directed and John Perez shot two days in Alberta for Shreddies through bbdo. Flashcut’s Mick Griffin edited.

At LTB Productions, Christopher Gentile picked up three 30s for the Hospital for Sick Children’s lottery out of Padulo. Ryan McMaster shot and Brian Williams of Panic & Bob edited. Director/ dop Steve Bruni landed two days for Pillsbury out of Leo Burnett Toronto. Hajek handled post.

Director George D’Amato and dop George Willis landed three location days from Canada Savings Bonds and Vickers & Benson. Third Floor’s Eaton edited.

And director Sean Tracey was in town shooting two days for Cincinnati Bell, with Barry Parrell on dop duty and Chameleon’s Brian Wells handling the edit.

Derek Case of Magic scored two days for Maple Leaf Turkey through Communicator, two days for Olivieri pasta through Bristol Communications of Halifax and a day in Halifax for mt&t through Corporate Communications. Magic’s Ted Parkes picked up a Country Style Donuts spot through Larter Creative.

Over at Apple Box, director Randy MacDonald and dop Gardner shot a spot for Pizza Pizza, with Atomic’s David Buder editing. Philip Spink had two days on location in Calgary and Drumheller and a day in studio for Shell Canada, with John Spooner the dop. Effects and cgi were handled by Calibre Digital Design director Neil Williamson.

Spink and Spooner also teamed up on a day for Sega Channel, with cgi and effects by Image Engine (Finale Post) in Vancouver. Director Bob Keats and Spooner handled the action on a three-day Thinkway Toys assignment, edited at Studio Post. Mark Walton and Spooner had a day for Superchannel, with Studio Post cutting. Director Robert Cuffley and dop Richard Zyp were called to Edmonton for a Quality Records spot.

Robert Quartly and dop Rene Ohashi at The Directors Film Company wrapped three days for Campbell’s Soup through Bates and a spot for Mirvish Productions. Buder edited. Director Doug Moshoian and dop George Willis picked up two days for McDonald’s through Cossette Communications.

Director/dop Ron Baxter Smith of Kessler Irish Films shot three days for the Beef Information Centre through Saatchi & Saatchi. Bruce Copeman at Axyz Edit handled post. Baxter Smith also picked up a Kellogg’s spot through J. Walter Thompson. Panic & Bob’s Andy Ames edited.

At The Players Film Company, Henry Less shot and directed two days for Pine Sol out of DDB Needham, with Daily Post’s Peter McAuley handling post.
