Victoria Harding has become the first woman to lead DGC Ontario as executive director.

Harding, who replaces Bill Skolnik in the role, has been DGC Ontario’s associate executive director since 2013. She assumes the guild’s top position today (March 8), after being a member for more than three decades.

With the appointment, Harding also becomes the first DGC Ontario member to hold the post. Prior to being named associate executive director, Harding was a production manager from 2000-2013 and a location manager from 1990-2000.

In her new role, Harding will be tasked with overseeing all operations and business activities for DGC Ontario, in addition to serving as lead negotiator for Standard Agreement negotiations with the CMPA, which are scheduled to take place later in the year.

“To say I am honoured to lead this organization is an understatement,” said Harding. “My whole career has led me to this moment. I am dedicated to serving this membership and advancing our organizational goals, protecting and elevating the 3,000 key creative and logistical production specialists we represent.”

Executive chair Annie Bradley added: “Victoria brings an exciting vision to our organization, strengthened by her decades of institutional memory and unparalleled  understanding of our membership at a time when we need it the most.”
