The Doodlebops is going into animation, via Latin America and Europe. Cookie Jar Entertainment has linked with Illusion Studios in Argentina and Germany’s Optix Entertainment on a cartoon version of its live-action kiddie series. Doodlebops Rockin’ Road Show starts work on 26 half-hours this fall, for CBC.
‘Both companies have found success in Latin America and Europe, respectively, and we look forward to the exciting energy that they’ll bring to the production of the series,’ said Cookie exec John Vandervelde in a statement.
The project marks the first time a South American company has taken part in an animation copro, added Illusion VP Gastón Cami. The shop was attached to the 2004 Argentine hit and has reportedly been expanding its operations following the 2007 buy-in by a Buenos Aries private equity fund.
‘Being such a young company, for us this is a tremendous honor,’ said Cami
