With the clock ticking on the tier three specialty channel launch, the Canadian Cable Television Association has released its vp marketing and communications Mary Koven. She had been with the association less than a year.

In terms of new additions to the fall specialty lineup, a decision was expected the last week of June from vision.com, the cable lobby negotiating with the specialties. The five digital licensees in the running were reportedly Life Network’s Home and Garden Television Canada, CTV Sports Net, Baton Broadcasting System’s Outdoor Life, chum’s Space the Imagination Station and CanWest Global’s Prime tv. Of them, ctv’s regional sports service is thought a frontrunner, although a final decision from the cablecos has been postponed again.
