Word out of L.A. has Canadian ex-pat writer/producer Paul Haggis (now with Rysher Entertainment) filing a breach of contract lawsuit against Alliance Communications after he was excluded from participating in this season’s Due South.
Haggis is said to have had a contract for US$65,000 per episode as exec producer in year one of the series. In season two, he was brought on as a consultant and paid US$25,000 per. He claims to have had an (oral) contract that he would be a consultant on the third season. He’s asking for US$600,000 (24 x 25 episodes).
Alliance representatives in Toronto declined comment.
