Tele-metropole is reporting year-end net earnings of $15.7 million, or $1.65 a share, a significant increase over the $9.1 million in profits reported in ’96. Revenues rose to $196.9 million from $184.1 million in the previous exercise.
The Montreal broadcast/production company owns and operates a majority of Reseau tva stations including flagship station CFTM-TV. The improved financial results are partly due to tva’s domination of primetime and overall viewing in both the fall ’96 and spring ’97 sweeps.
