SK Films has set spring 2021 for the release of its latest giant-screen feature Wings Over Water, with U.S. actor Michael Keaton signing on to narrate the project.
SK Films is the IMAX/Giant Screen worldwide distributor for the film, which is being co-written by SK Films CEO Wendy MacKeigan.
It is executive produced by Chris Dorsey of Dorsey Pictures and Charlie Potter of Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation and co-produced and co-directed by Andrew Young and Susan Todd of Archipelago Films.
Archipelago Films and SK Films previously collaborated on multi-award winning IMAX film, Backyard Wilderness.
Filming on Wings Over Water started last year, and, while spring 2021 was always the planned release date, an SK Films spokesperson said the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the production and caused some delays and schedule changes.
The film tells the story of the journeys of three bird species – the Sandhill Crane, the Yellow Warbler and the Mallard Duck – all of which depend on the Prairie Wetlands for their survival.
Other titles released by SK Films in recent years include Amazon Adventure and Volcanoes: The Fires of Creation.
