More than 400 productions from 60 countries are on the program of this year’s 22nd edition of the Montreal World Film Festival. Among them are highlights from the 1998 Cannes and Berlin film festivals and an impressive list of Canadian productions – 133 in all – including four Canadian features in official competition.
WFF ’98 runs from Aug. 27 to Sept. 7, with films screened at five venues including the Imperial Cinema, Place des Arts, Le Parisien and Complexe Desjardins.
Fifty-two films are being screened in this year’s Panorama Canada section, including 27 features.
Four Canadian films out of 24 have been selected for official competition and will vie for the festival’s top prize, Le Grand Prix des Ameriques.
