What has been the high point of your directorial career so far?

I’m still looking for that point.

What has been the low point?

The fact that I haven’t found it yet.

What’s your favorite TV commercial of all time?

Dominic Sena’s ‘Heritage’ spot for Nike. I cried my eyes out. I also liked the print campaign for Norwegian Cruise Lines. It made me think.

Why did you want to be a director?

To make people cry.

What do you like most about the job?

I’ll revisit the question on my next shoot.

What advice would you give an up-and-coming director that you wish someone had told you at the beginning?

I’m not really past that up-and-coming stage myself yet.

If you knew when you started off in the business what you know now, what would you do differently?

Nothing, but it sure does help to make your mistakes early to avoid them later (where it might count).

What’s next?

Go home… read a book… meet my friend…
