Restaurants on the Edge, a new unscripted series from marblemedia and L.A.-based OutEast Entertainment, has been given the greenlight at Blue Ant Media’s Cottage Life.
The 13-part, hour-long series sees chef Dennis Prescott, designer Karin Bohn and restaurateur Nick Liberato looking to transform restaurants that – despite stunning locations overlooking oceans, mountains and deserts – are struggling to live up to their potential. It was filmed across 10 countries, with filming locations including Hawaii, Slovenia and Muskoka.
The show launches on Cottage Life on Jan. 2, 2020 with two episodes starting at 8 p.m.
In a press release, executive producer Courtney Hazlett said the format takes an “uplifting, inspirational and positive” tone, in contrast to the “negative or hyper-critical approach to improvements” seen in other shows in the space.
Executive producers on the series are marblemedia’s Matt Hornburg and Mark Bishop and OutEast Entertainment’s Hazlett and Steven Marrs. It is produced in association with Blue Ant Media, series producers and directors Rob Brunner and Justin Harding and supervising producer Donna Luke.
marblemedia also produces Landscape Artist of the Year Canada, an adaptation of the U.K. factual format, for Blue Ant Media’s Makeful channel. As well, the Toronto-based company produced Blown Away, which aired its first season on Makeful earlier this year.
