Players’ Less wins PC job

The Players Film Company director/dop Henry Less shot two days for Presidents Choice Insiders Report out of Ammirati Puris Lintas. Norm Odell cut at Flashcut.

Director David McNally and dop Barry Parrell landed a day for AGF Mutual Funds. Young & Rubicam was behind the creative and David Baxter edited at Panic & Bob.

Director James Starr had a day for Chubby Subby Sandwiches with dop John Biggar. The job was out of Axmith McIntyre Wicht and Odell edited at Flashcut.

Director Carl Harvey teamed up with dop George Willis on a day for Harvey’s out of Ambrose Carr Linton Carroll. Brian Williams edited at Panic & Bob.

Avion Film Production director Martin Granger landed a two-day job for McDonald’s through Leo Burnett. Doug Koch was behind the lens and Flashcut’s Brian Noon handled the edit.

Granger and Koch teamed up again on a six-day shoot for Walt Disney. Leo Burnett, London was responsible for the creative and post was done in London.

Director Mark Story and Parrell landed a one-day Ikea job out of Roche Macaulay & Partners. Andy Ames edited at Panic & Bob.

Director/dop George Morita shot a day for the Ontario Jockey Club out of Ranscombe & Company. The editor has not yet been named.

Director John Zurik and dop Derek Van Lint had a day for Players Island Casino through Marshall Fenn. Alex Eaton edited at Stealing Time.

In Winnipeg, Visual Marketing director Scott Powell and dop Keith Mckenzie landed a one-day job for the Manitoba Government. Powell also teamed up with dop Dave Kornachuk on two days for Shapes Fitness Centres out of Signal Marketing. Rikki Maniel cut both jobs at Visual.

At Calgary’s White Iron Productions, The Partners’ Film Company director Gregory Sheppard landed a pool of spots for Telus Mobility through Ogilvy & Mather, Calgary, with dop Michael Andringa capturing the Alberta landscapes. Jeff Bessner edited at Partners’ Post.

White Iron director/dop Dean Bennett landed a day for Zeneca Achieve u.s. out of Cormack Communications, Calgary. The spot uses Alberta’s wide-open wheat fields as a stand-in for North Dakota, where the spot will air. Jeff August edited at White Iron Digital.

Director Rico Labbe and dop Craig Wrobleski wrangled up a two-day job for the Calgary Stampede out of Highwood Communications. August cut at White Iron Digital.

Labbe and dop Ian Matheson picked up a day for Subway featuring a bunch of creatives trying to come up with the best way to push their new soups. The assignment was out of Calgary’s The Venture Group and August handled the edit.

Also at White Iron, Partners’ director Eric Yealland and dop Sean Valentini shot two days for Telus Calling Card through o&m, Calgary. Ken Filewych edited at Leader Productions.

Yealland had another two-day job for Sears out of o&m, Chicago. Robin Miller was the dop and post was handled in the US.

Yealland also got together with dop Dylan McLeod for a one-day mt&t shoot out of Harrod & Mirlin/fcb. Mark Morton posted at Partners’ Post.

Director Bob Rice and dop Simon Mestel had a day for Labatt through apl. Steve Manz cut at Partners’ Post.

TOPIX/Mad Dog’s James Cooper spent a week creating stop-motion animation and two days on Inferno compositing a job for Pond’s through o&m. Dawn Dudek designed the backgrounds, Eaton edited at Stealing Time and Lee Maund did the final conform at Soho Post.

LTB Productions director Jeff Jones and Koch had two days for Wrigley’s out of Leo Burnett. Brant Lambermont edited at Third Floor Editing.

At Blink Pictures, the director team of Allan Friel and Billy O’Brien joined up with dop Darran Tiernan on a three-day shoot for Barclaycard out of bmp/ddb, London. Post was done in the u.k.

Link 2 Media director Robert Kent had a day capturing a building implosion for a Plastikman, aka DJ Richie Hawtin, cd. George Leiber was behind the camera and Derek Boyle edited at Link 2. No agency was involved.

Kent and dop Shawn Maher got the call on a second Plastikman job, involving a five-day shoot, through Minus Multi Media Design involving stop-motion camera, cg backgrounds, green screens, time-lapse photography and digital composite layering. Jeff Stephenson edited at Link 2 Media.
