Cineflix Rights
Cineflix Media’s U.K. sales arm Cineflix Rights has inked a number of European deals for Canadian drama series Pure (pictured). The series has been picked up by French cable channel PARIS PREMIERE, Virgin Media in the U.K., Sony’s AXN Channel in Germany and COSMO in Spain. Pure is produced by Two East Productions and Cineflix Studios. It debuted on CBC and was later picked up by Super Channel for a second season when the pubcaster chose not to renew. The series has previously been picked up in the U.S. by WGN America and Hulu.
Zeitgeist Films
Zeitgeist Films, in association with Kino Lorber, has acquired the U.S. rights to Alison Reid’s feature-length documentary, The Woman Who Loves Giraffes. Featuring the voices of Tatiana Maslany, Victor Garber, David Chinchilla and Lindsay Leese, the Crave original doc tells the story of Anne Innis Dagg, who made an unprecedented solo journey to South Africa to study giraffes in the wild. Reid serves as writer, director and producer. Joanne Jackson is producer, with Paul Zimic serving as EP. The Woman Who Loves Giraffes has previously been picked up by Amsterdam’s Off the Fence for international distribution.

eOne has signed a multi-year agreement to open a PJ Masks-themed attraction at Italian theme park. This marks the first time eOne has opened a theme park area for its PJ Masks IP, having previously opened a theme park for its popular children’s series Peppa Pig. The attraction, which is currently under construction, will include rides, restaurants and shops and allow visitors to interact with the characters. It is set to open in 2020.
