* Alliance Atlantis’ director of licensing and merchandising Nancy Bassett has resigned, confirms aac communications assistant Geoff Goodwin.

Twelve-year Alliance staffer Wendy Saffer, manager, special events, has left aac to join Robert Lantos’ Serendipity Point Films.

And Michael Klax, director of corporate development, has left aac as well. He will join Nelvana.

* Patrick O’Hara has been promoted to gm of Global Television Quebec. O’Hara, previously operations manager, replaces Suzanne Lapalme, who moves to the post of gm of CanVideo Television Sales. Lapalme will continue as sales manger for Global Quebec in addition to her new responsibilities with cts.

* Kelley Alexander is the new director of the Rogers Industry Centre with the Toronto International Film Festival Group. She was director of the TIFF Group’s ofdc sales office.

Alexander will be replacing Debbie Nightingale, a 10-year veteran of tiff, who is moving into film producing. She will remain as a consultant for the festival.

* Toronto software and new media company Digital Renaissance has appointed Penny Wilson president and chief operating officer. Wilson was formerly president of Toronto-based, Silicon Graphics-owned graphics software company Alias|Wavefront.

In her new role, Wilson will assume responsibility for the operating results of dr and will sit on the board of directors.

Company founder and former president Keith Kocho will continue as ceo, focusing on new products, industry partnerships and capitalization.
