The people at gvfx have received their third Emmy nomination for effects work, this time for their efforts on the Alliance Atlantis Communications series Total Recall 2070. The Toronto- and Vancouver-based shop got the Emmy nod for the episode ‘Machine Dreams.’

Visual effects supervisor Jon Campfens led the nominated gvfx team, which includes: visual effects coordinators Van LaPointe, Sasha Jarh and John Cox; 3D senior artist David Alexander; 3D animator Ray Caesar; senior compositors Joel Skeete and Barb Benoit; compositor Linda Tremblay; and key model supervisor Rick Gajdecki.

gvfx is responsible for creating the futuristic cityscapes in Total Recall 2070, using miniatures, motion control, 3D and compositing to integrate cg and live-action elements.
