Review subcommittees are currently reporting to the Canadian Television Fund’s board on a variety of concerns, including separate deadlines for different program genres, maximum licence fee requirements for coproductions, and balanced funding for renewals and new series. New guidelines should be in place soon.

Broadcasters have raised the issue of planning difficulties, and the need for more responsiveness to programming priorities.

ctf commitments for ’99/2000 are $127.2 million for English-language productions, both eip and lfp, and $65.3 million for French-language productions.

The English envelope consists of 56 dramas ($87.8 million), 36 kids shows ($19.2 million), 128 docs ($18.2 million) and 11 variety shows ($1.9 million.)

The French envelope consists of 37 dramas ($28 million), 19 kids shows ($8.7 million), 62 docs ($12.1 million) and 19 variety shows ($4.3 million).
