National Film Board animator Co Hoedeman has received the prestigious Klingsor Prize at the Biennale of Animation of Bratislava. In October, the Biennale organized a retrospective of Hoedeman’s films, including Continental Drift (’68), Tchou-Tchou (’72), the Oscar-winning film The Sand Castle (’77), Masquerade (’84), The Box (’89) and his most recent work, Ludovic – The Snow Gift, which has won 11 international awards.
Previous Klingsor Prize winners are Emmanuele Luzzati (Italy), Frederic Back (Canada), and Faith Hubley and Gene Deitch (u.s.).
