Sullivan Animation, recently launched by mothership Sullivan Entertainment, is the newest animation house to hit the Toronto scene.
Spearheaded by Sullivan Entertainment president Kevin Sullivan, the new prodco, which focuses on children’s animation, boasts a roster of 55 animators and artists to work on its inaugural slate.
Five animated series are in development, including 26 half-hours of Anne of Green Gables: The Animated Series for pbs, budgeted at more than $11 million; 13 half-hours of the sci-fi series Space Trap, which mixes live-action with animation sequences; the comedy series Mr. daVinci and Me; 13 half-hours of The Tiny World of Wellington Weevil for the cbc, an animated/puppet series based on characters developed by Jeff Rosen (Theodore Tugboat) and budgeted at roughly $100,000 per episode; and the action series Super Hero for the bbc, another live-action/animation mix, budgeted at more than $350,000 per half-hour episode.
