Decode Entertainment’s animated series Angela Anaconda has been renewed for a second season by Fox Family Channel. The series has also recently been bought by nrk in Norway, ruv in Iceland and scv in Singapore to begin airing in said territories this month. Angela has also been sold to the Cartoon Network Europe (servicing the u.k., France, the Netherlands and Spain); an airdate has yet to be determined.

*Shift hits the airwaves

Shifttv, a brand extension of the highly acclaimed Shift Magazine, makes its world premiere Jan. 10 on Life Network.

Produced by Cathie James, directed by Ian Hannah and hosted by Shift editor-at-large Clive Thompson, the 13-part infomag series focuses on digital culture by exploring how new media and technology are changing the way people live.

‘We’ll follow stories from the magazine…and the magazine will pick up some of the stories from the show. It’s a symbiotic relationship,’ says James.

Celebrity exploitation sites and cybermillionaire matchmaking are some of the stories the new series will cover.

*EU funds for movies, TV

The European Union has announced it will spend 350 million euros ($523 million) on a five-year development and promotional plan to be known as Media Plus.

Funds become available in 2001 and can be used for the promotion, distribution and development of qualified eu audiovisual content, including pilots, but not actual production costs.
