Spanish prodco Globomedia has acquired the local remake rights to the Quebec dance-competition format Dance Revolution.
Globomedia inked the deal with Israel’s Armoza Formats, which is selling the format in international markets.
Developed and produced by Montreal’s Quebecor Content and the prodco Fair-Play, Dance Revolution sees judges use 360-degree video technology to dissect dancers’ moves as they compete for a $100,000 prize.
Most recently, Armoza sold the rights to the show to Paris, France-based prodco Réservoir Prod, which is adapting the series for the French market.
Season one of Dance Revolution (11 x 90 minutes) aired on TVA this fall and reached around 1.4 million viewers each week, according to TVA. Season two of the series, which was also greenlit in December, is also expected to return later this year.
